The State of Israel and Current Events
I would like to start this article by citing some scriptures. You will notice that at the end of each paragraph, the references given. Those of you who are familiar with literature will realize that a series of three dots means that words or verses have been omitted from the citation.
But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee...And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it. And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other...(Deuteronomy 28:15, 63, 64)
Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks... 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined...And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate (Daniel 9:25, 27).
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate (Matthew 28:37, 38).
Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them. But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet (Matthew 21:43-46).
Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened (Matthew 24:16-22).
In recent weeks we have seen the escalation of serious trouble between Israel and her neighbors in the Middle East. Fifteen years ago, on radio programs throughout the world, I offered the strong opinion that if the world lasted 20 more years Israel would be displaced from its so-called Homeland in the Middle East. This is based on the Scriptures cited from the 28th chapter of Deuteronomy. The Bible teaches us, rather plainly it seems to me, that the failure of Abraham's natural children to accept their King and His Kingdom would result in the Old Testament of the flesh and of the Law being voided.
When Jesus came into this world as the Incarnate God, His first assignment was to confirm the covenant with natural Israel and to attempt to reform them by getting them to understand and obey the spirit of the Law, to accept it as the constitution of the Kingdom, and to accept Him as their King. But that did not happen. Israel rejected their King, told Pilate the Roman governor that He was not their King and that they did not want Him or His kingdom, and called upon the Romans to crucify Him. This was the Abomination spoken of in Daniel 9:24-27 that would bring about the desolation of the Nation. As a result of that abomination, the Kingdom was taken from them and given to the Church, and their house was left unto them desolate.
At that point, and in keeping with Matthew 24:16-22, incredible persecution would come upon the nation of Israel. The Matthew 23 passage indicates that while the individual Israelite may come back to God by recognizing Christ as the Messiah and accepting Him in his heart, the era of the nation and the Old Testament Kingdom is gone forever. Those who believe that it will come back have their heads buried in the desert sands of the Middle East; and are relying for validation on the dead letter of the Law Covenant that means nothing to God or the Church anymore. As Daniel 9:.27 says, the judgment that has been determined by God upon the nation of Israel shall be poured upon those desolate people until the Consummation of the Ages, which is, of course the end of the world.
Many Materialistic Theologians, subscribing to the humanistic heresy of Christian Zionism, believe that God promised some of Adams and natural born children eternal life because of their nationality and will bring them back before time runs out. This view is not only the result of poor exegesis but is an affront to historic orthodox Christianity which holds clearly that no child of Adam has been promised, or will ever be given eternal life on the account of his natural birth or nationality. In truth, the curse of Deuteronomy 28:63, Daniel 9:27, Matthew 28: 37-38, Matthew 21:43-46, and Matthew 24:16-22 has come upon this desolate House of Israel. Those who look for God to come to the rescue of Israel to protect them from the Arab World look in vain for something that is not going to happen.
In the past the United States, because of the militant British Israelism and Christian Zionism that has pervaded our national thinking since our inception, has used its military might, or in any case the threat of it, to defend Israel. Now that is all getting ready to change. Jesse Jackson has already let the cat out of the bag. One of President Obama's long-time friends was an adviser to Yasser Arafat and the PLO. The foreign policy of the new president will show no favoritism to Israel over the Palestinians. Once that new foreign-policy doctrine becomes known Iran, Syria, Hamas, Hezbolah, and other strongly anti-Israeli elements will come against the nation of Israel. The only reason Israel still occupies the land since 1948 is because of the clear threat of the military intervention and might of the United States.
When that is no longer the case, all of the energies of the Arab nations plus Iran (which is not an Arab nation) will be brought to play against Israel. This is not 1968. Israel will not be fighting the Egyptians with old, outdated, broken down WWII tanks, armaments, and artillery. Jordan, Lebanon, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, the Arab Emirates, and Egypt and all possess the modern technology and war machinery of Russia, France, Japan, and China. Some of them have intermediate range ballistic missiles which can reach any city or any point in Israel. Some of them have F-15 and F-16 fighter jets, AWACS and other sophisticated radar equipment. Without the support, or in any case the threat of support, of the military might of the United States Israel will not stand a chance of survival. The Abab world can sit in their own territory and blow Israel apart with missels armed with significant war heads if they are not afraid of US retaliation. If Israel attacks the broader Arab world to try to take out the missels, the fight will be on. The Israeli invasion of Lebanon to try to deal with the threat of Hezbolah is a good indicaiton of how that will go. It was a medium war effort with modest success at best. Without US help it is foolish to suppose that Israel can invade the entire Arab world and be victorious.
The curse by God of Deuteronomy 28:63 is once again being brought down on Israel, as indeed it has time and time again over the last two millennia. Because I know godly men who are Christian Zionists and because I wish to be charitable and discreet, I am stopping short of making an all-out prophecy that Israel will be history in the next five years. Even so, I must tell you that as a bona fide and ordained Prophet of the Lord, that is strongly my expectation. In any case, whether my expectations are right or wrong, the Word of God's stands sure. God destroyed Egypt, Babylon, Assyria, Syria, the Medes, the Philistines, the Amorites, the Ammonites, the Edomites, and many other nations in order to protect His chosen Nation.
Hundreds of times in the Old Testament God warned the nation of Israel (and the division into the Northern and the Southern Kingdom does not change the prophecy) that if they rejected Him then He would divorce them and bring judgment upon. Now in the end of the age the world is about to see this vengeance of God against those who rejected His love in favor and crucified His Son, the Lord of Glory. The nation of Israel is not still the chosen people of God and they will not survive mortality. The only eternal element in our present experience is the Kingdom of God that is in this world but not of it. It is time, my dear Brothers and Sisters, to get your eyes open and your mind straightened out. Israel has no future in the program of God. Those who teach otherwise are guilty of being taken in by the grand deception.
